About Mrs. Leserman
I have been teaching middle- and high-school English since 2005. My BA in English is from UCLA, my MAEd in education is from National University, and my credentials for teaching both English and social studies are from the glorious and golden State of California.
In my spare time I like reading autobiographies, gardening, cooking, traveling to places that have live theater and museums, and sitting in the backyard listening to the wind chimes or watching birds. My "bucket list" in the past has included finding out whether I could see every Shakespeare play produced live, in Los Angeles, in a single year (yes, it can be done!), learning how to make pickles, sourdoughs, and wine, and planning my next big summer trip. My "bucket list" for this year includes baking French Macarons; making a really great Sachertorte; learning
to speak German; spending a week learning fine art and gardening joy at the Huntington Gardens and Library, and another week at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC; and traveling to Oslo, Berlin, Copenhagen, and other wonderful places. Next summer I'm thinking of going on a trip through Eastern Europe.
Sample Lesson #1: Who Owns Public Art? Murals, Graffiti, and Tagging in Los Angeles
Sample Lesson #2: Does Your Posture Affect Your Social Standing? (Impact of Mobile Devices on Public Health and Personal Wealth)
Sample Lesson #3: Which Is Morally Superior, Equality of Opportunity, or Equality of Results? Evaluating Poll Data
Sample Lesson #4: Paint Chip Perceptions -- How Writers Use Color to Make Emotional Connections
